Эрдэнэчимэг Лувсанноровын

Dr.Erdenechimeg is an ethnomusicologist and researcher. She was born in 1957 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She comes from a family tradition of study in the fields of linguistics and folklore her (relation) family history being highly regarded. Her main research interest is ancient Asian music theory and history. Dr.Erdenchimeg earned her Bachelor's degree in music from the Musical College in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 1978. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degree at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (with Dr.Pr. Y.N. Kholopov) in Moscow, Russia in 1980-1986: she studied musicology at Shanghai Conservatory with Pr.Chen Ying Shi 1997-1999. She earned two doctorate degrees, one on 'The harmony of the Mongolian meditation Guru song' at the Mongolian Academy of Science in 2000. Since 2000 she has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Music Theory of the Mongolian National University of Art. She is a visiting scholar in the Indiana University Department of Central Eurasian studies for the 2005-2012 academic years. Dr.Erdenechimeg has written 15 musicological and ethno-musicological books in Mongolian several of which are published in Chinese, Russian and English.
