The objective of this report is to contribute to better policy decision making by understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the Mongolian economy. The natural objective of government policy to be the promotion of prosperity, by fostering the ability of domestic firms to operate and succeed in global markets. Only to the extent that public policy promotes conditions for firms to generate value and jobs, will a country be more competitive. The analysis of the Mongolian economy must be understood as an attempt to capture the drivers that will in the long run promote a more prosperous country.
